Our Staycation at Hotel Paseo

Like so many of you, traveling is something my husband Anthony and I enjoy doing quite a bit, whenever we can. We love finding new places to explore and new restaurants to try, both near and far.

In addition to this, one thing we also particularly enjoy is experiencing our own backyard more. Being that we are locals to the Palm Springs area, we really like being able to find new places nearby to chill at, eat at and have an overall good time at, all while staying close to home as well. And this summer, we’ve been doing quite a bit of that for sure!

So far, the months of June and July have consisted of enjoying all the “newness” taking place all over the Palm Springs region and also exploring more of what’s close by.

Recently, my husband and I had the opportunity to stay at Hotel Paseo, a local luxury boutique hotel in Palm Desert, for a relaxing weekend getaway. The hotel had reached out to me a few weeks back about a stay there, and TBH, we couldn’t resist the chance to do so. On top of that, we had been talking about booking a staycation for some time, so it worked out really well!

To give you an idea of what our stay was like and why YOU should consider booking a room at this 4-star hotel too, I’m sharing everything you need to know about Hotel Paseo in this post, including information about their amenities, food selections, spa features and more!

About Hotel Paseo

Hotel Paseo is the first boutique hotel in the El Paseo area of Palm Desert and one of the newest properties in the Greater Palm Springs region, having opened in mid 2018. It is a part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, which celebrates boutique hotels that are unique in design and thoughtful in spirit. Furthermore, the hotel’s Autograph Collection status makes the property a member of Marriott Bonvoy. This unique status allows members the ability to earn and redeem points for stays.

Fun Fact: This chic, 150-room destination was voted one of the 10 Best New Hotels of 2018 by USA Today, and after staying there, it’s easy to see why.

Hotel Paseo Dining

AC3

The first thing we did upon our arrival on Friday was have dinner at the hotel restaurant, AC3 Restaurant + Bar. Since we weren’t able to check in until later that evening, we decided to take advantage of their Happy Hour menu – available from 3-6 p.m. and 9-11 p.m. daily – and let me tell you, it was delicious! We had the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, the Popcorn Shrimp Taco (comes with 3 tacos) and the AC3 Burger, plus a couple beers for my guy and a glass of rosé for me.

It was all SO GOOD and I 100 percent recommend trying the Popcorn Shrimp Taco selection, as well as just dining at this restaurant next time you’re in the area.

Room Service

The next morning, we opted for room service and got us some breakfast. Our meal included eggs benedict with yummy potatoes, an omelette with toast, some orange juice and a latte to get the day started. Room service was super quick and super helpful when it came to meal recommendations, fyi. We were very pleased with breakfast that morning for sure.

The Café

Throughout our weekend stay, we also enjoyed goodies from their lobby café. Coffee pick-me-up, snacks, quick bites and a variety of refreshments like beer and wine can be purchased there.

Amenities

Spa Services

My second day at Hotel Paseo also consisted of getting a 50-minute La Lé Wellness Massage at Spa La Lé. I didn’t know it at the time, but getting this full-body treatment was exactly what my body needed that weekend. My massage therapist did a fabulous job at targeting specific areas and helping me de-stress. The massage also included the use of warm stones, which made for an even better experience. After my massage, I got to enjoy their private relaxation room.

In the spa lobby, guests can browse and shop an array of spa items, jewelry pieces and cute home décor elements.

Gym

As I exited the spa, I came across the hotel gym. This amenity is spacious and bright and full of a variety of machines and work-out equipment to choose from. One of the coolest things about this gym is its special floor-to-ceiling views of tropical scenery as it’s both relaxing and nice to look at.

Hotel Art

Another special aspect of the hotel is all the art that can be found throughout the property. Guests are welcome to walk around and explore the hotel’s artistic nature that includes art in the lobby from local art galleries.

Outdoors

Weekend DJ

We also had a great time while enjoying the outdoor area of Hotel Paseo. On Saturday, we were able to chill out for a bit on the lawn and vibe to some good music, thanks to their weekend DJ, who plays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lawn Games

One of my favorite things about the hotel is their lawn games. Guests and visitors can choose between Cornhole, Connect Four, Jenga and Mini Golf. How cute, amiright!?

1950s Airstream Trailer

Those coming to the hotel will also be pleasantly surprised to find the cutest vintage 1950s Airstream Trailer on the lawn as well. This space serves as a great area for photos, as well as a nice little spot to sit down, relax and chat.

Pool

On Sunday, we finally had some time to check out the pool and the hot tub. Those staying at the hotel are invited to take in some sun by hanging out, cabana-style, or under their summertime yellow umbrellas. Adjacent to the pool is their outdoor bar that’s serving up lots of great drinks as well!

In addition to offering great summer specials, the hotel’s location is a BIG plus!
